He began his career in environmental water and microbiology, building a strong scientific foundation for senior roles across healthcare, education, local government, and commercial sectors. He has delivered UKAS-accredited Legionella risk assessments, [water safety audits](https://www.waterhygienecentre.com/water-safety-audit), [design reviews](https://www.waterhygienecentre.com/project-design-review), training, and outbreak investigations, working with NHS Trusts, local authorities, and commercial organisations to ensure compliance and manage risk. Jim has also collaborated with national bodies, including the UKHSA, OHID, and HSE.
