The Water Hygiene Centre was established in 2009 to address the lack of independent water hygiene consultancy within the industry. From our humble beginnings, we have established ourselves as a market leader, helping clients identify and minimise the risk of waterborne contamination and disease, whilst improving compliance performance.
We are proud to have developed a reputation based on independence, free from any vested interest, and with a high quality of service provided to our clients. The Water Hygiene Centre has a wealth of experienced, qualified and dedicated water hygiene and legionella consultants all of which offer unbiased advice. Our collective experience includes Microbiologists, Biologists, Health & Safety Managers, Risk Assessors, Engineers and Building Services Professionals.
Our head office is based in West Oxfordshire with regional offices in Glasgow, Hereford and Nottingham.
Our approach to supporting clients is through long term partnerships, providing them with the continuity and assurance of expert risk management solutions for water safety, including the control of Legionella, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Scalding and Chemicals.
Our primary focus is supporting our clients to comply with legislation and guidance for water safety, including the ACoP (L8), HSG 274 and [S]HTM 04-01.
Our clients are spread across the UK and British Isles, and include the following industry sectors:
The nature of the Water Hygiene Centre, being a knowledge-based professional services consultancy, is achieved through our culture and ethos:

The Water Hygiene Centre is committed to driving improvement and delivering the highest quality water hygiene services within the industry.
As an established market leader we are proud to have achieved standards and memberships with bodies such as UKAS, BSI, the LCA and CHAS. Most notably, in 2015 we achieved UKAS accreditation for our Legionellosis risk assessments, remaining one of only eleven organisations in the UK qualified to provide this service. Taking part in regular audits and assessment for compliance with these codes of conducts and service standards, these memberships, along with the management system we have developed, means that we are well placed to assist our clients in controlling the legionella risk associated with their water systems.
