Retained Competent Help for Water

Combining specialist knowledge of engineering, building services and health and safety, to guide you in meeting your water hygiene compliance objectives.

Our Retained Competent Help for Water service is delivered by our Senior Consultants to help ensure the relevant Water Safety Group or Water Management Team are supported with independent and impartial advice.

Our support covers technical content through feedback on Water Safety Plans and auditing to ensure compliance with guidance and applicable standards.

A key element of the service being an independent audit of the organisational water risk management systems, determining the level of compliance with the requirements of the HSE ACoP L8 and HTM 04-01, where applicable.  The method for the audit will vary depending on the relative time and experience with the client.

Examples of ongoing support include:

  • Attend Water Safety Groups;
  • Review management and operational performance;
  • Changes in guidance and industry knowledge the client should be aware of;
  • Review of client records;
  • Progress review of issues identified from the legionella risk assessment, including remedial works;
  • Progress with the implementation of the risk minimisation scheme;
  • Review of monitoring data covering the last period and feedback recommended actions where necessary;
  • Assist the Water Safety Group with their review of Water Safety Plans.

As expected, the Water Hygiene Centre did an excellent job of supporting me with my needs.  I also particularly like working with Roy.  He knows his stuff and tells me what I want to hear.
