5 Top Tips for Water Safety

Is water safety something an organisation needs to be concerned about...?

What is the actual risk with water…?

These might be some of the thoughts that pop into your head when you read the title of the session.

This one-hour briefing aims to provide some hard-hitting facts and published stats on reported cases of illness associated with waterborne pathogens detailing those who are most susceptible.

For those who have some responsibility with health and safety and water for their organisation, this is a helpful introduction.

Legionella Risk Assessments and BS8580-1:2019 Event

Legionella risk assessments are nothing new, the need to complete these risk assessments have been around for decades.  The standard and quality of these risk assessments can vary greatly!  Our briefing session will last around 60 minutes and reiterates the need for legionella risk assessments and how they are required under the Regulations and Guidance documents.

In 2010 British Standards Institute issued BS8580 Water Quality – risk assessments for Legionella Control – code of practice.  For the first time, a published standard on what a legionella risk assessment should include.  In 2019 British Standards issued an update to BS8580, further refining the standards for these risk assessments.
