Written Scheme / Water Safety Plan

The development of a policy, water safety plan and technical procedures documentation, tailored to the client’s requirements, for the safe management and operation of water systems is critical in the quest to combat the risks associated with water hygiene.  These documents collectively are referred to as a written scheme.

Organisations will require a clear and concise management policy to be communicated and implemented. Such a policy is the cornerstone for a successful risk management system.   Regular audits will confirm the effectiveness of the policy throughout the organisation.

Water hygiene and legionellosis are long term risk management issues. The safe management, design, operation, monitoring and maintenance of water systems are considered to be of utmost importance, in order to avoid the small number of organisms supplied in mains water being allowed to multiply out of control.

The Water Hygiene Centre can provide:

  • Organisational policy
  • Central management procedures
  • Contractor procedures
  • Management and technical procedures for site heads, in the format of site log books and water hygiene manuals
  • Standard specifications for all water hygiene remedial work
